How did you discover interior design?
Moving into my first property made me fall in love with interior design. Drawing up plans, planning spaces and sourcing made me discover this hidden passion. I’ve always been creative having studied art & design at a young age but never perused it as a career. When finally discovering this new passion I wanted to follow my dream and enrolled to KLC School of Design, recommended by a friend. This was the best decision ever and a great career turning point for me.
Who are the people alive or dead that you think are/were truly inspirational?
My late grandfather. He died when I was only eight years old but I still remember him very well and always love listening to stories about him. He was of grand stature and had a real presence about him. He was a very hard working entrepreneur with such charisma. When I go to holiday in my village where he lived, people still talk about him… I’m still am in awe of him and wish I got to know him a little bit more…
What is the best thing about living in Pisa?
Definitely the climate and the food. I love the fact I can drive down to the beach in 15 minutes, it makes such a difference to be able to do that. Life in Pisa is so different to London, everything is very slow paced and you really get to appreciate the simple things in life. Pisa is surrounded by beautiful Tuscan cities like Lucca, Siena, Florence to name a few so it is totally inspirational to be able to sometimes visit these places. However I’m a real London girl so I always need to fly back as often as I can! I’m very lucky and thankful to be able to enjoy both cities.

How does your love for Italy influence your designs?
I have a very relaxed approach to design which I believe comes a lot from my Italian side. I do have a Mediterranean influence, which sometimes shows, especially in the kitchen, this probably has to do with my love for food. Italy is full of beauty and culture and full of passion so I think this reflects in the way that I am extremely passionate in what I do.
If you could have a home anywhere else in the world where would it be?
Probably New York – I love the way everything is so fast paced and full of life. I love their design culture and what they have to offer. I also love the people and it’s a city that is real. Everything is so incredibly cool in New York.
What three interior accessories can you not live without?
Cushions and lots please – they can really make a difference to your interiors.
Rugs, as I find them essential and they give a cosy feel in the home.
Plants & Flowers, they instantly light up a space.

What is your favourite room of your house?
My dining/kitchen area as it is where I spend most of my time during the day. Whether it’s while I’m cooking or working on my laptop or sipping a cup of coffee, it’s where I love to unwind. It’s definitely the hub of the house for me.
Is a big garden important to you?
I wouldn’t necessarily say a big garden is important but a small open space is. There’s nothing nicer than reading your favourite book or magazine or having your morning coffee. Just sitting outside can really clear your head and a great way to have a small break. I find it very therapeutic…

To you, what makes a home perfect?
A cosy home. A place that I feel completely relaxed with all my comforts. Every detail and accessory has a story. It’s what makes a home unique and full of personality.
Find one photo from the internet that your dream home would look like.
I’m in love with Betina Stampe’s home- she is the founder of Bloomingville. I’m a lover of Modern rustic and this is just perfect.
